Our beautiful Arbutus... Strawberry trees Forever.

Thousands of tiny white bell shaped flowers scattered like snow by torrential gales.

Most of the clusters of flowers survive protected by broad evergreen foliage.

Only a few juicy fruit make it to maturity per cluster.

Too cold for most pollinators, a lucky late harvest for the hard working Bumble bee.

There comes a time in a working man's life...

When he has to put his feet up.

Thick wool slippers with neoprene soles lined with felt.Insulation against the ravages of a stone cold floor.  This is the first step toward a remission of a number of health issues. Just what the doctor recommended some thirty odd years ago,it's never too late to start doing the right thing.
All thanks to Anne-Sophie, for her diligent hard work and her tender love and care.

The last of the squash harvested today. Stacked with the others they make a splendid sight.

We are going to need help eating this lot, I'm not doing it on my own. Half a bucket of walnuts, the last harvest from our young tree, wait to be cracked. They can wait a while longer.

I'm trying to not talk about them this season...

But we still like 'em and we eat 'em. A good mix from the "Bean Factory",their culture is establishing well, they seem to like growing here. Permanent supply assured.

Happy for the greater understanding it may generate.

Inside Out...The resurgence of Old Albion in a foreign field.

Starting again, again... It's what I do best.

At long last, I'm back at the terminus. We'll set about now to complete the jobs we started.A north facing work place, completion of the Roundy House project,"Building on the foundation of historic ruins".A  nourishing plantscape, a habitat fit to live in.It's been worth the struggle, feels like I'm coming home for the first and last time.No longer blinded by the collective glare of directionless opposing light, sheltered from the cacophony of unsupressed "Noise of Electrical Convenience" and the battering of unwanted telephone calls.I can now make the most of rare moments of peacecful tranquility. Creative Quietude.

Gnome from Home... Heading back  to the context of my origin. Conceived in a caravan by seasonal agricultural workers, in the Vale of Evesham. Grateful for the restart.Strikes me as the antidote for much that an obviously "Sick Building"may impart. There's a lot of good I can do from here that would be rendered impossible by remaining in the facility at the bottom of the ridge. Time to take the high ground and regain a grip on my health. Just enough time to revive a totally knackered man.
The Roundy House Project is hardly a scratch on the world surface. Around the seasons less tidy jobs. Shucking peas and corn, carding wool , basket weaving;such tasks that would not marry well with food processing in the kitchen
The bid  for the corner house attatched to ours, has been accepted. Anne -So has plans of her own. Expanding crafty ideas will blossom there, maybe inspire a few landless Urbanites to release themselves from the gridlock of compulsive wage slavery. The Garden is our common ground. We'll keep you posted at present we are in transition. That's all for now.  I. Wazir

Hats off to Herself!..

First Prize

She fed tended then learned to shear the sheep.Washed and carded the wool, blending promising colours and textures. This batch has a natural beauty that doesn't need dyeing. Had there been need only plant pigments would have served.Anne-Sophie's dyeing experiments are a whole other story. Spinning the yarn can inspire other foot tapping rythms. The more the merrier...
On a head, best place for it.......Forward thinking headwear is that. Brains just love this kind  of insulation.
Close knit close fit.
Her doings,.....my likings.   I. Wazir.

Investing in a better way of Living.

It takes practice...

Anne-Sophie getting good results from her Ashford portable, folding, spinning wheel.

A tangle of raw wool.

Carded into rolags...
Then it's spun into a yarn ,ready for knitting or crochet, dyeing with plant pigments perhaps. This batch is aimed at becoming a hat fairly soon. I'm told there's socks and allsorts else once the hat's done. She has fleece in abundance now sheared and washed  by her own busy hands. No shortage of supply...

In the treasury of morning light...

Anne-Sophie does it again! Another perfect photo image. Capturing the moment? Strangeness and Charm, Colour and Form. Mysterious message...Izzit Art?

Favourite of the week.
The beans are hidden by the tangle of leaf. They won't slip past my greedy gaze. The more we gather now the faster the last flush of flowers will mature. there is plenty of new flowering growth. The present harvest is being done with secatures to avoid recklessly damaging the mother plants.Scragging the plants is unavoidable in the last days of harvest. Not worth too much worry. We will pull out the woody supports , the decaying foliage and stalks will be laid where it stands now to act as a mulch, keeping in humidity driven by constantly rising ground heat. The Earth is cooling. Make the most of it.
Chayot, a hardy traveler climbs the beans. Young sprout plants preparing for frostier times.A few carrots ,(stragglers) and a small patch of Parsley, with just a smattering of Calendula. Room for more stuff...? You Bet!
I'm not bored with beans, they are a highly sociable vegetable. In the one foot margin at the base of the runner beans, Courgettes, Cosmos flowers, out of the picture, Butternut Squash,Cabbage, Capsicum Peppers and bright yellow Tomatoes.
