Practical positivity ,locked down into my "normal" life. Home garden the Great Liberator.

Saved...!

The Brussel Sprouts took a beating from recent gales. In recovery now, top buds becoming firm the lower more traumatised buds gradually catching up.Fed and mulched , the ground surrounding each plant is hammered down. Couldn't resist testing some of these. Could do with a frost to sweeten them up, coming soon.
Leafy Leeks, cut back to discourage mildew and transpiration. They are swelling fast.

My Runner Bean experiment is promising good result. Old "retired" rootstock producing new shoots beneath straw from previous season. The ridge will be topped with up turned grass sods and straw, the based improved with well rotted compost. We keep the soil warm, moist and active, through the winter for an early start next growing season.

Brightens my day each time I see it, Hollyhock flowering in mid November.

 A perfect floret. Romanesco.
