"Food Security"... They make it sound so clinical."Homeland prosperity" sounds more comforting.

"I didn't do nothing..."

It's not a knife crime.

Mam takes the young uns for a happy meal of apple peelings. A perfect dessert to follow the mouse she killed for the entré.

Peeled and chopped, ready to cook. Lots more apples to come. This is just the beginning. Dried apple rings went down well last time. A great way to store over the winter. Good in cake or as an alternative to sweets. I suddenly have a craving for Apple Crumble.

Compote aways a favourite. Good with Pork, good in a cheese sandwich. Mixed into plain yoghurt,(mmm I like) ,And a great compliment to Rice Pudding.  It doesn't last long once the jar is opened.

The Fig tree gives sheltering shade. This will be a busy spot at harvest time.

Eglantine, (Rose hips). Now the bush is well established, I will cut out much of the unproductive growth. We will cultivate the fruit for syrup.

Beetroot pickle, cooling down.

 Butternut Squash...

Chayotte...

Plenty of pretty stuff to look at.

Our  sunflowers are still hanging around.

That's enough excitement for one day...better head back for home it's nearly feeding time.

This could have been all yours. Sorry you missed it.Delicious cake tasted twice as good divided in two.
