Ayup Portugal, Browsing High, What are you up to?

Something is happening here...The table is starting to fill up Green beans,Sauer Kraut,  Bottled squash,Fruit Jelly and Winter salad. I'll put the Blackberries with the ones in the cooler .Two more days with  the promised  sunshine. We will have a few more kilos. The last of the whitecurrants will increase the volume of the Jelly substantially. There looks to be several more weeks of harvest. Hope to integrate a formal row of these in the hedge from cuttings next season.

Lactofermenting "winter salad"...

Aubergines ...Preparing for a pickling.

From the top, in a clockwise direction: Cumin seed (Jeera), Chillie peppers,Tumeric(Haldi) Coriander seeds, Black Pepper, Sea salt and Sugar.

A few ingredients, Garlic some fresh herb (I know not what) and grated ginger  are lightly cooked in oil, then mixed with the masala paste.

The aubergines have been salted to draw out the bitterness, the liquor is squeezed out

Brinjal Pickle.

It's worth celebrating the beaning of Life...

Not Quite ready for the main harvest. These samples were a welcome addition to the stew pot. Looks like being a bumper crop this year.
